In 2015, Commercial Development Company, Inc. (CDC), a corporate affiliate of Industrial Demolition LLC, purchased the Picway Power Plant from American Electric Power (AEP) with the purpose of environmental redevelopment and demolition. Environmental Liability Transfer, Inc. (ELT) assumed associated environmental liabilities.
Demolition of existing structures is currently underway and will continue throughout 2018. Activities will include the demolition of non-essential plant structures including the former powerhouse and smoke stacks followed by site restoration work.
